week 15

by Sarah Zinkel on September 20, 2012

only 5ish weeks left of our csa for the summer. :( major sad face here. it is going to be so strange to actually have to buy all of our vegetables at the supermarket again.

i guess i’ll just have to appreciate the weeks that we do have left!

week 15 of our wholesome harvest csa was a good one.

i already used the tomatoes and the bell pepper in dinner last night. the bok choy is on deck for dinner tonight. we’ll use the potatoes for roasted breakfast potatoes this weekend. arugula for salads… not sure about the butternut squash – i’ll probably roast it.

and ugh the turnips. turnips aren’t my thing. i can only remember one dish that contained them that i actually liked, and i have no idea how to recreate it! it was an amazing scottish root vegetable casserole that my professor’s wife made. maybe i’ll have to ask him for the recipe!

……………….

do you like turnips?

All I saw was the butternut squash and immediately got happy for you haha. I love that stuff. You got a great box of goods this week! Looks like a lovely end-to-summer welcome-to-fall theme :)
