every year, the madison home-brewers and tasters guild puts on a huge beer festival called the great taste of the midwest.
it is awesome.
this year was brad and my 3rd time going with a big group of friends and it was probably the best year yet! we had perfect weather – not super super hot like last year.

what’s your favorite beer?
i can’t choose a favorite! i really like a lot of them. usually i’ll order a wheat beer if i’m having a whole pint, but i liked having the small pours of the really flavorful dark beers at the beer fest!

I am so jealous (I have never been). You guys had such good weather.
My favorite beers are IPAs (like Hoppalicious) and stouts.

mmm, hoppalicious is one of my favorite all-time beers! i have a very hard time picking something over it when it’s available on tap at a restaurant!
It seems like ATL has a beer festival every weekend. They are so much fun! I am loving the Hitachino beers right now. Their ginger rocks!

I love this festival. It’s so much better than any other I’ve attended (and I’ve been to a lot LOL). I’m addicted to New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk, but I did taste quite a few really good beers.

this was the first year in the 3 years that i’ve attended great taste that i actually made it to the new holland stand BEFORE dragon’s milk was gone! i had heard so many amazing things about it, so i was pumped to try it. i liked it, but WOAH, it was a strong beer! haha, i’m glad i finally got to try it.
I fell in love with Dragon’s Milk at a DC area event, Savor. I got to meet the brewer, so now he knows me. I love events where the actual brewers and owners attend.

This festival looks SO fun! I’ve gone to lots of wine tasting events but very few beer ones. My favorite beer is Stella, but I also love New Belgium brews. Glad you had good weather!
