restaurant review: mario’s

by Sarah Zinkel on March 24, 2012

while brad and i were down in st. louis, we ate out a lot. one of the places that brad was most excited to visit was mario’s.

marios

he discovered mario’s right before he graduated last april, and he kept saying that he wishes he knew about it sooner!

as soon as we walked in, i knew why brad liked it so much….

donuts

hellooooo donuts!

i was more interested in the real menu though.

menu board

they had tons of breakfast, sandwich, and side options. since i had just eaten breakfast a couple hours earlier, i wasn’t very hungry.

i got the side of hummus and pita.

hummus

and brad got a gyro (of course) with a side of cheese fries.

gyro

we were both more than satisfied with our portions & all of the food was great!

also, the staff was super friendly. brad was debating what kind of donut to get to bring with him and the guy behind the counter offered to let him try them. brad didn’t take him up on it, but i thought it was so nice that they offered!

one more plus about mario’s…

cheap!

it is super affordable! we were both more than satisfied when we left and we only paid $12.86! that is hard to beat.

and now i’ve got to say that i agree with brad…i wish he had discovered mario’s earlier. i loved it!

***

i’m having a busy saturday morning that includes cleaning, laundry, walking the dogs, and packing. we’re heading back to manitowoc this afternoon for a wedding!

one of brad’s family’s friends’ daughters (did you catch that?!) got married in hawaii earlier this week and they’re having a reception at home tonight to celebrate! i’m really excited. i haven’t met the bride before, but i have met her parents and sisters plus the rest of brad’s parents’ friends, so i know it’ll be a good time!

p.s. the trop50 giveaway winner was chosen & emailed this morning. check your inbox if you entered!
