restaurant review: anna’s pizzeria

by Sarah Zinkel on February 2, 2013

whew. this review is way overdue.

i definitely don’t review every single restaurant that we eat at (that would be a lot…), but i try to document the gems so i can share them with you, my lovely readers.

so, as part of our mission to find the best pizza in sun prairie, we decided to give anna’s pizzeria a try.

now, we didn’t actually go to the restaurant, but i hear it’s a pretty small, casual, family-run restaurant. i love that. but, we ordered for delivery so we could eat it during a packers game.

anna's pizzeria

anna’s is known for their thin crust pizza, so we went with thin crust with the works and a serving of garlic bread.

look at all those toppings.

are you hungry yet?!

we loved this pizza.

i never knew i was a fan of thin crust. in fact, after trying imo’s pizza when i lived in st. louis and absolutely hating it, i was pretty sure i didn’t like it at all. thanks to anna’s for proving me wrong! the crust was crispy, the sauce was good, and i loved all of the toppings!

the portion of garlic bread was small, but it was like $1.50, so that’s to be expected.

my only complaint about anna’s is that their menu isn’t online. we ordered the works based on a review that i saw posted online, but i have no idea what other kinds of pizza they have. i guess we’ll have to actually make a trip there one of these days…

We’ve gotten Anna’s a couple of times and have really liked it. I love how they put the bacon on the deluxe! Soon you’ll have to rank all of the pizza places against each other. Which ones do you have left?
Although it’s not pizza, have you been to Deli Roma?

i’m not sure which pizza places we have left. i think we’ve got the big ones: day one, salvatore’s, glass nickel, anna’s. can you think of any others off the top of your head? we also recently had pizza at buck & honey’s, which was DELICIOUS.

we haven’t tried deli roma. i’ll add it to my list if you recommend it! :)

Deli Roma has great sandwiches – they use and sell Boar’s Heads meat. Their turkey muffallata is delicious!
I rarely go to Buck and Honey’s. I think we just forget about it :( But next time I will try their pizza.

Villa Dolce in Middleton has really delicious pizza. And when in Madison, you can’t go wrong with Pizza Brutta!

I really feel a need for pizza now, even though dinner is cooking in the oven. Thank you for the post and I will be fitting in pizza this week to our meal planning.

That pretty much looks like my perfect sauce to topping to cheese ratio. The saucier the better in my book. [And I LOVE thin crust. :) ]
