by Sarah Zinkel on May 31, 2012

i feel like i write this every month when i write my foodie penpals post, but where did may go?!? i can’t believe tomorrow is june 1. ahhh.

The Lean Green Bean

this month i received a package from christy at chocolate covered diamonds!

as always, i was spoiled rotten!

i received:

  • lychee flavored coconut water
  • cranberry nut mix
  • 2 flavors of kind bars
  • decaf taster’s choice coffee
  • tea
  • cark chocolate goji with rasperries
  • 2 chewy granola smash bars – graham pretzel
  • love grown foods granola sample with coupons!

thank you so much, christy! i love everything i’ve tried so far & can’t wait to try the rest! :)

this month i sent a package to kristen at kristenanne’s kitchen. i’ve loved checking out her blog this month – she posts some delicious-looking recipes!

and now, if you’re interested in participating in foodie penpals, here are the details. (and for the record, i definitely think you should participate. it’s always so much fun to receive a package in the mail, plus you’ll “meet” new blogging friends. it’s a win-win!)

-on the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. it will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-you will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. on the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-the boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! the spending limit is $15. the box must also include something written. this can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-you are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-foodie penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. if you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. if two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-foodie penplas is open to u.s. & canadian residents.  please note, canadian residents will be paired with other canadians only. we’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from u.s. to canada and vice versa. so, there are going to be two separate lists and match u.s. w/ u.s. and canada w/ canada!

if you’re interested in participating for june, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.

you must submit your information by june 4th as pairings will be emailed on june 5th!

and finally, i urge you to hop over to lindsay’s blog today. she has a link-up party for everyone who participated in foodie penpals. clicking over to see what everyone else got is almost as exciting as opening my own package!

and in case you’re curious, here are my past foodie penpal posts:

unfortunately, i’m going to take a couple months off from foodie penpals. brad and i are pinching our pennies around here to save for some big plans in the near future! i’ll be sad not to participate, but i know it’s still fun to see what everyone else sends!

*****

have you tried any of the items that christy sent me this month?

i hadn’t tried most of what i received. i still haven’t tried the dark chocolate goji with raspberries & i think i need to get on that!

Holy wow! That package is great! That tea with orange sounds pretty amazing – you and I share that love of tea! I’ve never tried any LoveGrown granola products and really want to soon!

The mandarin and honeybush water is one of my faves! So tasty. I got a friend hooked on this when he tried it at our house! :)
