i promise this is my last restaurant week post! sorry if you guys are sick of hearing about restaurant week. i’m just a dork & these have been the highlights of my week. plus, if i don’t post about them immediately, i know i’ll forget to do it!
full disclosure: i paid for this meal entirely on my own and i was not compensated in any way for this blog post. as always, all thoughts and opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
i was excited to meet up with kelly for another restaurant meal. i love chatting with fellow bloggers! we kept up a steady stream of chatter while enjoying a good meal.
to start, i ordered the mini chop salad. it came with chopped greens, cherry tomato, cucumber, bacon, eggs, buttermilk blue cheese, and chive vinaigrette.
the chive vinaigrette dressing was awesome & i enjoyed how flavorful this little salad was.
for my entree, i ordered the seafood mac’n cheese – scallops, shrimp, crab in a chipotle cream sauce.
i enjoyed this dish. it wasn’t extremely cheesy (at least not by my standards), but i enjoyed the seafood and the slight spiciness of the chipotle sauce.
and finally, for dessert i chose the door county cherry crisp with vanilla bean ice cream.
another dessert winner! the cherry crisp was piping hot when it arrived at the table and the vanilla bean ice cream was perfect because it cooled off each bite so i could dig in right away.
and madison restaurant week delivered yet another delicious meal! i know the regular menu at capitol chophouse is a little pricy, so i’m glad i got the chance to eat there during restaurant week for a great deal.
wow, i have truly had an incredible week of meals thanks to madison restaurant week. i can’t wait to see what’s in store during the summer 2012 week! (i think we need to start saving money now so we can go out for as many meals as we did this time.)
