yesterday was the final day of the fitness and health bloggers conference in colorado.
same story as the rest of the conference –> it was pretty great!
but you want to know more than just that, right?! well, i want to tell you, so i’m going to pretend you’re interested!
breakfast was a make-you-own-parfait buffet.
tons of driscoll’s berries
and love grown foods granola for topping.
my finished parfait had plain yogurt, blueberries and raspberries, and some granola! simple + delicious. i also stopped at panera for an iced coffee. you know i can’t start my day without it!
they encouraged us to take the leftovers, so i may or may not have hoarded a huge stash of granola…
don’t judge me.
we had a bit of time to kill after breakfast, so i finally snapped a photo with my roommate for the weekend, julie!
(if you don’t read her blog, a better life with burgers, you definitely should! it’s a new favorite of mine.)
we also grabbed our breakfast buddy, melissa from eat on the run, for a photo!
then we headed inside the auditorium for a couple more sessions.
first up were ted and adam from the american council on exercise (aka ace) to talk about using the internet to grow your business.
i was really interested in this presentation since i am planning to offer my health coaching services through my health coach site (not live yet, but soon) once i finish my iin certification!
it also helped that both adam and ted had great presentation styles and really engaged the audience. i have to share one slide from their presentation that i loved!
where should you share your status update?

there are so many social media outlets and it definitely takes a bit of work and practice to get good at using them all! i’m still working on that skill….
then ted and adam brought out shanti, who is a youtube celebrity!
i hadn’t heard of her before, but she has an incredible following on her youtube channel where she vlogs about her inspiring weight loss journey. we got to have a little q&a session with her, which was very cool.
next up was dr. holly wyatt to talk about the current evidence on weight loss & weight loss management. i want to write a whole post on this topic, so i’m going to hold off on that recap for now.
finally, we had a great (long – 30+ minutes!) q&a session with dr. wyatt and dr. jim hill.
this was such a cool opportunity to have the chance to pick the brains of these experts. they were very relatable and gave us great insight into where the current research is on weight loss, weight management, and a bunch of other health topics.
after that, the conference wrapped up, and i had to head home.
i had a less-than-perfect trip back home that resulted in some frustrations and arriving home almost 3 hours later than originally scheduled, but i was very happy to be back with my three boys last night!
i’ve got one more general post planned to wrap up my thoughts on the conference and several most posts to share some of the information that i learned, but those will take a bit more time to put together!

full disclosure: i received a scholarship to attend the conference from refuel with chocolate milk. i paid for my own airfare and hotel. as always, all opinions expressed on the blog are 100% my own.
……..
i feel like i’ve been out of touch with my blog reading for the past four days.

Looks like you had a great time and learned a lot! Are conferences like these ever held in the midwest? I would love to attend one but have a lot to figure out on my own first.
The best part of my weekend was Saturday morning: a run with friends from DailyMile and breakfast at Graze.
i haven’t been to graze yet, it’s high on my list though!
and i’m not sure about similar conferences in the midwest. if i ever come across one, i’ll let you know!
What a fun weekend! I’ve loved the recaps. And the breakfast – YUM!
yep, they definitely fed us well!
I’ve never heard of that brand of yogurt! But so far, I haven’t found a yogurt that doesn’t taste amazing with a bag of love grown
better whey of life isn’t sold nationwide yet, but it should be in whole foods everywhere by october of this year! i can’t wait – the vanilla flavor was delicious!
Looks like you had a blast and I love the social media flow chart, it is so true!

Hi Sarah: I learned so much at the conference too. For example, fitness bloggers are NICE people who bring amazing energy to whatever they do! You, Julie and the others were absolutely darling. Fun pics in this post too!
