the last week. major sad face.
i could totally tell the farm was cleaning out their garden this week though! so much produce!!!
this week we got:
- sweet potatoes
- russet potatoes
- delicata squash
- a baby butternut squash
- green peppers
- a pie pumpkin
see? told you it was a lot!
they also kindly sent us this sample of windsor breads. our csa had a partner program with windsor breads (a local bakery) this year, where you could add on bread to your weekly pick up. we didn’t do it, but the bread looks good! i’m 5 days into the 24 day advocare challenge, so i resisted trying any of it. i can always stop there and get some after the challenge if i really want it.
i am so pumped about all the squash we got this week. brad and i have been enjoying some roasted delicata and butternut squash that i roasted last weekend, so i can do another batch on sunday! perfecto!
i’m so sad to see another csa season go. back to the supermarket for our produce next week…
waaahhhhh. this is the second to last week of our 2013 csa. where has the season gone?!? we’re just starting to really got the good winter squash and it’s got to end. so sad.
i am loving this week’s goodies. we got:
- raspberries (!!!!!)
- butternut squash
- delicata squash
- pie pumpkin
hooray for some of my favorite produce! it took all of my willpower not to devour those raspberries as soon as i got home. brad loves fresh berries too, so i saved them to share.
i did chop of that giant kohlrabi immediately to eat with hummus in my lunch today. i will plan to roast up the squash this weekend in preparation for the advocare 24-day challenge which is starting on monday! my csa veggies will definitely help me pack in my veggies during the challenge.
we’re starting to get some fall produce in our csa share and i am soooo happy! we got delicata this week! you know i’m planning to roast that baby up as soon as possible.
it’s not all about the delicata this week though. this is what we all got:
- delicata (!!!)
- green pepper
- spicy peppers
- green beans
we’ve been going through tomatoes like crazy. we only had two left in our tomato bowl before i picked up the csa yesterday so i’m glad the tomatoes are still coming on strong! i’m not sure about the rest of the veggies. we’ll see what i come up with!
