another first

by Sarah Zinkel on August 8, 2012

this is my first daily meals post since moving to the house!

[not a big deal, but still fun for me to think about…]

yesterday, i eased into my morning with some blogging and email at my desk at home…

coffee while blogging

coffee was necessary!

i went back for more coffee with my breakfast – plain 2% chobani with a drizzle of agave and some very cherry berry blend.

breakfast while reading blogs

[i spy the broken plow…!]

i also took my huge handful of vitamins.

after breakfast, i headed into lab to get some work done there. i broke for lunch and ate this trader joe’s indian fare meal that i tossed in my purse since we’re low on food right now – i’m going grocery shopping today!

trader joe's indian fare - madras lentils

my favorite of all of the indian fare choices at trader joe’s is this one – madras lentils – followed by the punjab eggplant (i think that’s what it’s called…!).

after lots of work/emails/a seminar, i headed home and inhaled this snack as soon as i walked in the door.

random snack - ham slices and mini pickles

two slices of deli meat ham and a bunch of mini pickles. yes, it was a random snack, but it worked and was one of my only options in our fridge.

dinner was these amazing, awesome, loaded nachos.

homemade loaded nachos

the base was trader joe’s black bean & flax chips. then i added sloppy joe meat, black olives, red bell pepper, tomato, red onion, and cheese! i also drizzled on some salsa and a bit of sour cream after this photo.

i watched the olympics while i ate. eep! women’s gymnastics always has me on the edge of my seat and last night was no different! i won’t mention any spoilers, but oh man, i was crossing my fingers during the balance beam results!

i had a dark chocolate adora disc for dessert.

adora dark chocolate

these things are delicious! i tried them for the first time at the fitness & health bloggers conference, and i just received a bag to review (look for a giveaway soon!). i’m hooked.

i guess i was thirsty after dinner, because in addition to drinking almost 40 ounces of water, i had a lemongrass ginger kombucha…

nessalla lemongrass ginger kombucha

and some tea!

tea

and then i had to pee every 30 minutes for the rest of the night.

ughhhh….. what was i thinking?!

anyway, now that i’m getting back into a routine after being so thrown off by the move and house stuff for the past couple weeks, i’m back on the what i ate wednesday train!

thanks to jenn, for hosting this link party every week!

…………………………

i’ve got a whole to-do list of randomness today! i’m kind of excited, though. there’s a good variety of tasks to keep my interest.

those are my favorite kind of lists!

…………………………

have you tried adora chocolates before?

if not, i highly recommend you get on that!

what are your favorite kind of items to check off of your to-do list?

lately, anything house-related is really fun for me! other than that, i like smaller tasks, even if they’re intense or difficult, over long drawn-out things… i think i’m an instant gratification kind of person….

I give you mad props for already setting up your office! The spare room we have set aside as my office/photo studio/room has a bunch of boxes and all my photography props and equipment LOL. I pinned like 849373 home office ideas and just need to start buying the things I want. But, I think the important thing is having a good desk. I’ve never had one, so I’m scoping the goods or finding something old I can refinish or something…
Keep the new house pics coming!

really? the office & the master bedroom are the two rooms that i was all about getting done first! i spend so much time at my computer working at home, so it was kind of important to me to work hard on the office!

Never tried adora disks.. they look like a good size to satisfy a mini-chocolate craving! I am all about my to-do lists, love checking off admin stuff like sending emails, posting letters or paying bills. My worst jobs!

Your nachos look amazing. I think I’m going to make some for lunch! Or maybe for dinner! Or maybe tomorrow…

I can sympathize. I love my bevvies, no matter what they are. Boyfriend is always making fun of me for peeing all the time. TMI? Probably.

Hey! I see us. :) Thanks for the shout-out. And for reading! And you totally make me want some navy Fiestaware. That’s one of the colors we don’t have!
