about

i’m sarah and i am thrilled that you stopped by my corner of the [blogging] world! i started this blog in january 2011 as one of my new years resolutions. after reading healthy living blogs for over a year, i thought i could add something to the community. i am all about embracing those everyday learning moments that happen when you least expect them. my blog features anything from food, weight loss, craftiness, goal-setting, and sometimes even fitness. things are always changing in life, and this blog reflects that! right now, i am learning how to stay healthy and motivated while sitting at a desk all day. who knows what tomorrow will bring! whether it be a new recipe, cooking technique, organizational tool, workout move, or random fact, i make it a goal to learn something new every day. this blog will follow my life and the (hopefully) interesting things i learn each day!

some basics:

i recently graduated from the university of wisconsin with my phd in nutritional sciences and from the institute for integrative nutrition with my health coaching certification. now i am settling in to a new job in clinical research as a study coordinator. i love what i do!

i grew up in a small town in wisconsin, right on lake michigan. after high school i went to washington university in st. louis to get my bachelors degree in biology and psychology. i married my amazing husband, brad, on august 27, 2011 and we live in madison, wi. we also have two dogs, capone and jake, who we spoil rotten – you’ll see them pop up a lot on the blog! i stay busy reading, cooking, crafting, spending time with friends, (sometimes) working out, and blogging.

thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy what you see.

feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

want to know more?

i have lots of wedding planning and wedding day recaps on my wedding page

i shared some random things about myself here and here.

Hey Sarah! Great blog! I’m curious about the decision to get both your phd in nutritional sciences and the health coach certification through the institute for integrative nutrition. Why did you choose both? Apparently they must complement each other somehow but how?
