hey everyone! thank you for all of the well wishes on our anniversary! brad and i had a great day together yesterday.

whoosh. where has the morning gone?! i’ve been on my computer since 7, paying bills and setting up all of our new accounts at the house and closing old utility accounts, etc. at the apartment. that stuff takes a while!

i wanted to give a little recap on our anniversary celebrations yesterday. we didn’t do much, but i’d like to have it in a post so we can look back on it!

i was a nice wife and let brad sleep in while i went over to our apartment to get some cleaning done. our lease ends on friday and we left the unpleasant task of cleaning until the last minute – oops! around noon, just as i was going to wrap up and come home, brad arrived and surprised me with some beautiful flowers!

*all of the photos in this post are from my phone – sorry for the poor quality!

since he was there and ready to clean, we did another hour or two of work and then headed home.

it was already 2pm and all i’d had to eat was a couple of hard boiled eggs and a coffee before i left the house and brad hadn’t eaten breakfast yet, so we headed to burrachos. we’ve driven past it a million times and commented that we wanted to try it, but never did, so we decided to finally give it a try!

it was set up very similarly to chipotle or q’doba, so i was pumped! we selected if we wanted a burrito or a bowl and then went down the line customizing our orders as we went.

we both ordered bowls. mine had black beans, fajita veggies, chipotle chicken, corn salsa, lettuce, cheese, and guacamole that i split with brad. i’m not sure what he got on his, but he finished it, so i’m sure it was good!

i’m so excited to have a place like this in sun prairie so close to our house! you’ll be seeing more of burrachos on here in the future!

after lunch, we chilled for a bit – me on the computer and brad playing a video game. then we headed out for date night!

first up was a movie! we saw the campaign. i thought it was funny, but predictable. a lot of the really hilarious parts were in the trailer, so there wasn’t a ton of new stuff. it was pretty much what you would expect based on the trailer and the two main actors!

then it was time for our dinner date at the melting pot!

we haven’t been there since our one year dating anniversary way back in august of 2009, so we were excited for this meal. i’ll do a full post/review soon, but i will just say – yum!

of course all of the food was delicious and we left with full bellies!

we came back home and relaxed with the pups for the rest of the night.

overall, we had a really nice, low-key, anniversary! i realized at the end of the night that we never ordered a cupcake in our favorite flavor from our wedding or toasted with champagne in our wedding champagne glasses like we meant too. oops!

…………………….

how do you like to celebrate anniversaries?

do you go all out with a fancy meal or a vacation?

i wish we could have taken a little trip/belated honeymoon, but things are a bit hectic around here right now with the house and me finishing up my dissertation… a honeymoon trip will happen! just not right now…

We actually just had our 2 year anniversary last week. We had a couple massage and then went to Fresco, so I did finally get to go! :)
I say, celebrate your anniversary all week long. Plenty of time for champagne and cupcakes. :)
