it’s about time for another garden update around here!
last time i talked about my porch garden, i had gotten everything planted and was just waiting for them to take off.

um, i’d say they really did take off!!
i took these pictures last night, so in less than a month you can see that my tomatoes went from not even touching the first ring on their cages, to being well above the second!!
and they have little green baby tomatoes! i’d say there are about 6 today with a lot more flowers waiting to grow into more fruits!
i cannot wait to have fresh tomatoes! i guess i just have to wait another month or two? *sigh* too bad i’m not a patient person.
so the tomatoes are doing amazingly. what about the rest of the plants?
basil is doing well! i’ve been trimming them so they grow really full. hopefully i’ll be able to get a small batch or two of pesto before the summer is over.
and how about that sage?!?
it’s taken over the pot!
the rosemary and thyme are still going strong too.
really, only the cilantro is struggling.

our cilantro last summer didn’t do very well either, so i’m not too upset. i’m just using it while i can!
so yeah, i’d say my little green babies have some a long way in just under a month!
and i am loving having the fresh herbs on the porch with easy access!
my plan is to keep trimming the herbs and giving all the plants some tender love and care!

thank goodness for our csa this year. my garden isn’t going to produce much. i can’t wait until we have a house and i can plant a real garden!
