eco-friendly clothes and accessories

by Sarah Zinkel on April 12, 2012

if you’ve been following sarah learns for a while, you might remember back in september when i mentioned some purchases i made at ecolissa and how much i loved them.

well, i was lucky enough to be given another great opportunity to try some more stuff from melissa’s awesome shop! i won’t even lie. i got the email about this last wednesday, and i placed my order about 15 minutes later! i remembered loving just about everything in the shop last time, and it was no different this time. in fact, i had an even harder time narrowing down which items i wanted to get this time!

first, a bit about the shop.

ecolissa was founded by melissa dion and is a shop that sells women’s clothing and accessories from many different designers. all of the products sold on the site are made of sustainably produced materials and vegan. they use materials like bamboo, organic cotton, soy, and hemp. i also love that they have an emphasis on products that are made in the u.s. and fair trade.

plus, everything is super fashionable and well made.

i still love the earrings, necklace, and shirt i bought last time. i wear them all the time!

so, want to see what i got this time?

first, i got this slouch tee. i got one with 3/4 sleeves in black, but it doesn’t look like it’s available right now.

i love love love it! i’m actually wearing it today. :) it’s so comfortable and i love how loose it is. it’s very easy to wear. i am definitely contemplating getting more shirts in a similar style.

i also chose these green tree jewelry large scroll earrings.

i don’t see them in the shop anymore either, but there are tons of other adorable earrings from the same designer. i had the hardest time choosing which earrings to get. i love these though – they’re big and make a statement, but they’re super light weight and i don’t even feel them when i wear them. i hate wearing super heavy earrings, so these are perfect for me!

the last item i chose was a little impractical since summer is approaching, but i fell in love with in when i saw it. i ordered this ivory chunky infinity scarf. [obviously i wouldn’t wear it with this outfit or with sandals! hah!]

i love infinity scarves and wore the same black and white one all winter. it’ll be nice to have another to add to the mix next year! also, this one is a little less bulky than the one i have, so i could definitely wear it as part of an outfit and not just outerwear!

i am in love with all three items i purchased. i’ve worn the earrings and shirt already and both felt awesome to wear and i really like how they look.

other details

i have had amazing experiences both times i’ve purchased from ecolissa. as i mentioned, i placed my order last wednesday afternoon, received order confirmation the same day, received shipping notification the same day, and had my products on monday. the amount of time it took to process the order was amazing and i really appreciate that.

also, i have to mention the $5 flat rate shipping option. it pains me when the shipping for an item is a good percentage of the cost of the product i’m buying. i can’t tell you the number of times i’ve had something in an online shopping cart, went to check out, and then deleted my order because shipping was outrageous. that would never happen here!

and finally, i really appreciate the commitment to selling only sustainably made, feel-good, products. purchasing “healthy” clothing is honestly not something i think about a lot, but i do believe it is important to be aware of where everything we purchase comes from and how it is produced. i have some work to do on that!

a discount for you

if you’re interested in purchasing from ecolissa, i have a treat for you! you can take 20% off your order with the coupon code Spring20.

full disclosure: i was given a 50% blogger discount from ecolissa to purchase up to 3 items of my choice. i was not compensated for this review and as always, all opinions expressed on the blog are my own.
